From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could enable the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for Casimir.
