One extended voyage through Australia has been cancelled days after the fatal incident of an senior lady who was left behind by the cruise liner on a remote island.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the vessel, but broke off from the group for a break. The vessel departed without her and came back later that day after the personnel discovered the lady was not present.

A large-scale hunt located her remains the subsequent day.

Authorities are investigating the event, alongside law enforcement and the state coroner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company said that travelers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the continuation of the cruise had been called off due to the "sad loss and prior technical problems".

In a statement, he added that guests would be provided a full refund, and said the organization was working "to arrange the homeward trips of the passengers via specially arranged planes".
